Doppia testa / immagine in incuso

Questo errore avviene solo se una moneta coniata non viene espulsa dalla macchina correttamente, un'altro tondello poi viene inserito e la macchina conia la moneta fra il conio e la moneta coniata precentemente, il risultato è una moneta con una faccia coniata correttamente e l'altra faccia con la stessa immagine ma in incuso. Questo errore può avvenire con tondelli confinati o non confinati.

Nelle monete antiche è molto comune e probabilmente è il tipo di errore che ha fatto nascere le leggendarie monete a doppia testa dei truffatori.

Può avvenire un Incuso con dritto rovescio (eng: Counterbrockage) dove la moneta ha una faccia in incuso e presenta regolarmente il dritto e il rovescio, è un errore rarissimo.

Questo è uno dei più spettacolari errori che si possono trovare. In pratica la moneta può essere coniata su un tondello di metallo differente oppure proprio su un tondello destinato ad altre monete.

The most basic type of planchet error is when the wrong planchet is fed into a press. Since both the loading tube and the die collar are sized for the appropriate denomination of coin, only planchets of the correct or smaller size can be struck within the press. This means that a dime planchet can be struck by quarter dollar dies, but a quarter dollar planchet cannot be struck by dime dies, since it won’t fit into either the feeder tube or the collar. These wrong planchet errors typically occur when a few stray planchets of one denomination remain within a hopper that is subsequently loaded with planchets for another denomination. Sometimes finished coins are still in the hopper and become overstruck with different dies.

Questo errore avviene quando viene coniata una moneta su un'altra già coniata di valore differente
E' un errore rarissimo e difficilmente può avvenire fra due monete a corso legale nello stesso momento.
